Pinealon

Pinealon is a bioregulatory tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) that targets brain tissue, particularly the pineal gland and neocortical neurons, through modulation of neuroprotective gene expression programs. Research has demonstrated its ability to promote neuronal survival under hypoxic and oxidative stress conditions, enhance melatonin synthesis in pinealocytes through upregulation of AANAT and HIOMT enzymes, support circadian rhythm gene expression (CLOCK, BMAL1, PER, CRY), improve cognitive function markers in aging brain models (spatial memory, working memory), reduce neuronal apoptosis through Bcl-2 upregulation and Bax downregulation, and support neuroinflammation resolution by modulating microglial activation states. The pineal-targeting aspect is particularly significant, as pineal function decline is considered a key driver of age-related circadian disruption and downstream metabolic, immune, and neurological consequences.
