Cardiogen

Cardiogen is a bioregulatory tripeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp) that targets cardiac tissue through epigenetic modulation of gene expression in cardiomyocytes. Developed as part of the Khavinson bioregulator series, research has explored its capacity to promote cardiac progenitor cell differentiation into functional cardiomyocytes, enhance myocardial contractility through calcium handling optimization, support mitochondrial function in cardiac cells under stress conditions, and modulate the expression of cardiac-specific transcription factors (Nkx2.5, GATA4). Studies in aging cardiac tissue models have demonstrated restoration of cardiomyocyte proliferative capacity, improved electrophysiological parameters, and reduced apoptosis rates. Cardiogen's bioregulatory mechanism acts at the gene expression level, making it complementary to pharmacological cardioprotective agents that target specific receptors or enzymes.
