Bronchogen

Bronchogen is a bioregulatory tripeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp) developed as part of the Khavinson peptide bioregulator series at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. It specifically targets bronchial and respiratory tissue through interaction with DNA regulatory sequences that modulate gene expression in respiratory epithelial cells. Research has demonstrated Bronchogen's ability to normalize the production of key bronchial mucus components, support ciliary function in airway epithelium, modulate inflammatory cytokine expression in lung tissue (particularly IL-8 and TNF-α), and restore age-related decline in bronchial epithelial cell proliferative capacity. Studies in aging animal models have shown improvements in respiratory function parameters including tidal volume and forced expiratory flow. The bioregulatory mechanism is distinct from pharmacological approaches, as it acts at the epigenetic level to restore normal gene expression patterns in respiratory tissue rather than blocking specific molecular targets.
