Chonluten

Chonluten is a bioregulatory tripeptide from the Khavinson series that targets respiratory and mucosal tissue with additional anti-inflammatory signaling properties. Research has focused on its ability to modulate inflammatory cytokine expression in lung tissue models (reducing IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α while promoting anti-inflammatory IL-10), support epithelial barrier function through tight junction protein upregulation, enhance mucosal immune defense by modulating secretory IgA production, and restore age-related decline in lung epithelial cell renewal. Studies have explored its potential applications in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) models, allergic airway inflammation, and post-infection respiratory tissue recovery. Chonluten's dual respiratory and anti-inflammatory targeting makes it particularly relevant for research into age-related respiratory decline, where both tissue degeneration and chronic low-grade inflammation contribute to functional impairment.
