Pancragen

Pancragen is a bioregulatory tetrapeptide targeting pancreatic tissue, with particular focus on beta-cell function and islet homeostasis. Research has explored its ability to modulate insulin gene expression and proinsulin processing, support islet cell viability under glucotoxic and lipotoxic stress conditions, promote beta-cell proliferation and neogenesis from ductal precursor cells, normalize glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) in aged pancreatic tissue, and reduce islet inflammation and immune-mediated beta-cell destruction. Studies have demonstrated improved glucose tolerance in aging animal models and restoration of first-phase insulin response, which typically deteriorates with age.
