Research overview
Sermorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) consisting of the first 29 amino acids (GRF 1-29 NH2) of the naturally occurring 44-amino acid sequence. It represents the minimum fragment of GHRH that retains full biological activity at the GHRH receptor (GHRHR) on anterior pituitary somatotroph cells. Sermorelin stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and release growth hormone in a physiological, pulsatile manner that preserves the natural negative feedback mechanisms mediated by somatostatin and IGF-1. This physiological approach to GH stimulation distinguishes it from exogenous GH administration. Sermorelin is one of the most extensively studied GHRH analogues, with substantial clinical research data supporting its effects on GH secretion, IGF-1 elevation, body composition, sleep quality improvement (particularly slow-wave sleep), and skin thickness. Research has also explored its effects on immune function, cardiovascular markers, and cognitive performance in aging models. The 10 mg format supports extended research timelines and dose-response characterization studies.
