Semax

Semax is a synthetic neuropeptide derived from the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) fragment 4-10 (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro), with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension that dramatically enhances metabolic stability and CNS penetration. Developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Moscow, it has been the subject of over 800 published research papers. Semax demonstrates potent nootropic and neuroprotective properties through multiple mechanisms: enhancement of BDNF and NGF expression in hippocampal and cortical neurons, modulation of dopaminergic and serotonergic neurotransmission, activation of the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway in neural tissue, and upregulation of TrkB receptor signaling.
