LL-37 (Cathelicidin) is a 37-amino acid cationic antimicrobial peptide, the sole human cathelicidin, derived from hCAP18. It exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and enveloped viruses through membrane permeabilization. Beyond direct antimicrobial action, LL-37 modulates innate immunity, promotes wound healing, angiogenesis, and epithelial cell migration.
